Health and
Wellness
Here at InspireWear we believe not
only in the uplifting of the mind, but also the proper
care of the temple - our bodies. One of our greatest set
backs as human beings is lack of effectively caring for
our bodies - God's holy temple. We tend to think that
because we are not sick or have any illnesses, we are
physically okay; but are we really okay? Scripture has
it that the body is the temple of God (1Cor 3:16)- that
means it does not belong to us. So wouldn't you agree
that it being entrusted to us, we need to take care of
it until it is time to give it back?
The way God designed our bodies is
that each part, both internally and externally, from the
thistles of hair on our heads to the nails that grow
from our toes is dependent of the other in one way or
another. It is like a link; the physical needs the
emotional and the emotional needs the mental and the
mental needs the spiritual, and they all link together
to help the other function as a part of God's
masterpiece called the body. Therefore, we need to take
absolute care of our holy temples, our bodies, the way
God intended, by first living in the spiritual, then
being selective of the foods we take into our bodies,
and the thoughts that flow out of minds.
DIET
Often times we hear people saying
they are going on a diet to loose some weight. They use
these quick fix it diet plans that only work temporarily
by allowing them to loose a few pounds but eventually
regain the pounds or even more as time progresses. As a
matter of fact, this is harmful for your body as it has
been known to gradually deplete muscle tissue and add
fat tissue. That is because proper dieting is not a
quick fix, but rather a lifestyle. In order to loose
weight and remain at your ideal body weight, you have to
gradually do the things that are necessary for your
body's development. Moderately overweight people usually
lose one to two pounds a week on a well-balanced diet
while seriously overweight persons may loose a little
more. So what are the things that are necessary for the
body's development? Follow these key notes:
-
Think positively and spiritually.
In whatever you do, try to renew the thoughts of
your mind. make them as pure as possible. Address
your issues on a spiritual level. Try to live by
God's commands (Ex 20) which encompasses all the
aspects of life and see the dramatic difference in
your life.
- Get plenty
of fresh air. Try to take in
as much fresh air as you possibly can. Air
conditioner is not fresh air.
- Drink plenty
of water ( about 6-8)
glasses - not too much because too much water may be
harmful to the body - as water flushes toxins from
the body and is good in reducing some problems that
may affect your kidneys. When you wake in the
mornings, try to drink 1 glass of water before you
attempt to do anything. However, if you feel the
need to drink juice or something other than water,
you could add a little maple syrup (also good for
prostate health) to your water or get a good juicer
and juice fresh fruits.
- Be very very
selective with your choice of foods.
Watch out for the refined, processed and
concentrated foods - especially sugar which will do
more harm to the body than most other foods. Sugar
in present in almost all the foods that we eat. The
word sugar is hidden in many different ways but the
most popular is high fructose corn syrup; so please
consume sugar in low moderation if at all.
Try to choose brown foods (whole grain etc.)
as there are higher in fiber and is more beneficial
for the body than enriched or bleached food
products. Pay close attention to the ingredients
labeling than the nutrition panel.
The rule when you go to the grocery store if
you cannot pronounce or it is difficult to pronounce
three of the first five ingredients on the package,
then you might want to stay away from that product.
Kick the snack habit. Eat healthy and hearty
meals in order to eliminate this habit. Stay away
from problem foods; don't purchase them - if they
are not around you will not be tempted to eat them.
Reduce oil and butters and other fats you add
to your foods and also try to reduce significantly
the consumption of animal products .
- Get plenty
of exercise daily. At least 45 minutes to an
hour of brisk walking, aerobics, trampoline, tennis
etc., does great benefits for the entire body.
Walking is especially good, it gives your entire
body a workout.
- Get plenty
of rest. Try to go to sleep
at the latest 9:30 pm. It has been stated that
natural healing takes place in between 10 pm and 2
am in the morning. A body over worked with little
rest leaves a gap for stress which can take a major
physiological toll on the body and its organs.
Note: All these pointers should be taken
gradually.
SKIN AND NAILS
Your skin is a living breathing
organism. Personify your skin as a plant. Without
the proper nourishment it is going to wilt and
eventually die. We tend to put just about anything
on our skin, whatever chemicals we think carries a
sweet scent that will make us smell good. However,
most of these perfumes, lotions and sprays are
loaded with chemicals that we have no idea what
their compounds are. Just like the grocery store
rule: if you cannot pronounce it or it is difficult
to pronounce three of the first five ingredients on
the package, then you might want to stay away from
that product. Try to use 100% natural and authentic
herbs and oil products on your skin (like products
with organic jojoba oil, tea tree oil, virgin
coconut oil, palm oil, extra virgin olive oil etc).
Be careful of products marked natural. Not always
are their ingredients from natural compounds.
Skins Cosmetics provides a natural
alternative to skin care, and promotes 100% natural
and or organic skin care products. Experiment to see
which product is best for your skin. Just as
the body naturally heals itself, then using natural
oils and cosmetics is definitely the way to go.
